ReWalk Robotics and AlterG Join Forces

Recently ReWalk Robotics™ announced the acquisition of AlterG® Inc., a global industry leader in innovative rehabilitation technology and the makers of the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill™. Using unique gravity-defying technology AlterG has been able to redefine what’s possible in physical rehabilitation and training. Their Anti-Gravity Treadmill systems augment physical deficits and increase mobility to improve orthopedic rehabilitation, the management of neurological and chronic conditions, active aging, and athletic performance. At ReWalk Robotics, we share a similar mission of enhancing quality of life for individuals with injury and disability through innovative technologies that enable mobility and wellness in rehabilitation and daily life. We are thrilled to add the AlterG products to the ReWalk family, uniting these two businesses creates a larger team that will allow us to better support all our customers, both in the clinic and at home.  

What is an AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill?

Since 2005, the world-famous AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill has changed the way athletes and diverse patient populations rehabilitate and train. The AlterG features patented NASA-inspired Differential Air Pressure (DAP) technology, a precise air calibration system based on the user’s actual body weight. Apart from its normal treadmill functions, the AlterG also has a precision pressure-controlled chamber that gently lifts the patient by degrees, reducing gravitational load and body weight in precise 1% increments. This allows AlterG enables both patients and athletes to move in new ways with finely calibrated levels of support to improve stability and reduce pain during gait rehabilitation.
